What Has a Date on It in Green Hills This October

Ivory painted-brick home with a dark oak entrance, arched fanlight, paired shuttered windows and a limestone approach bordered by oakleaf hydrangeas.

Since mid-September, Green Hills has picked up a new Italian dining room, a relocated Burberry and two free October events within a few minutes of each other. Over the same months, the largest promised changes nearby have stayed undated. That includes a $250 million renovation of The Mall at Green Hills, the reopening of the Green Hills Branch Library and the first Nashville store from On. This October, the small changes are the ones with confirmed dates, and the big ones are still waiting for theirs.

That gap matters more than any single opening. Below is how it looks on the ground, starting with the new things that are actually open.

A Dining Room With a Confirmed Opening Night

Lupo Notte opened on September 16, 2026, at Vertis Green Hills, 2035 Richard Jones Road. It is the first full-service restaurant from Southern Land Company, the Nashville developer that has its headquarters in the same mixed-use community.

The menu is upscale Italian, and the opening announcement names specific dishes. The Lupo Meatballs combine ground wagyu, Italian sausage and veal. Snapper comes in a tomato broth, and the agnolotti are filled with sweet corn. The 12-inch Neapolitan-style pizzas use 48-hour fermented dough and bake in a three-deck oven, ranging from a classic Margherita to Soppressata with Calabrian honey. The drinks list leans on Italian-inspired cocktails and a wine list heavy on Italian varietals.

For now it is a dinner restaurant. Hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Reservations are taken on the restaurant's site and on OpenTable.

Lupo Notte is a clear example of the October pattern. Its opening night happened on a published date. Its next step, lunch service, is only "slated to commence in October," with no day given. Online ordering is promised for "later this fall." As of October 4, nothing confirms that lunch has started. For a midday plan, call ahead. For dinner, the schedule is published.

The October Calendar

Two community events this month have exact dates, times and locations. That alone sets them apart from most Green Hills news this year.

  1. Saturday, October 10, Fall Fun Fest at The Mall at Green Hills. The mall describes a pre-Halloween event with games, crafts, snacks, music, face painting and a selfie station, and costumes are encouraged. It takes place on the lower level outside Dillard's. Tickets are free through Eventbrite and are needed only for children, not adults. Crafts and snacks last while supplies last. The mall suggests the Emerald Parking Deck as the closest place to park.
  2. Fridays through October 30, Bluebird Cafe gift shop hours. The Bluebird Cafe opens its doors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays. Four Fridays remain this month: October 9, 16, 23 and 30. The cafe says no reservations are needed on its scheduled dates.
  3. Sunday, October 18, Bluebird Cafe Fall Open House. The cafe opens from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the longest daytime window on its fall schedule.

For neighbors who have only ever seen the Bluebird through a reservation queue, these daytime hours offer a rare walk-in visit. The cafe invites guests to take photos and browse its merchandise.

Inside the Mall, a Spring List Sorted by Fall

In early June, WSMV published a list of stores that had recently opened at the mall, along with a separate "opening soon" list. Recently opened were SKIMS, Hollister Co. and Valenti. Altar'd State and State & Liberty had moved to new spaces, and Kendra Scott was operating in a temporary location.

The "opening soon" list was longer, and by October it has split into two groups.

Confirmed open as of early October:

  • Burberry, in its relocated space. Modern Luxury reported on October 1, 2026, that the British house "has opened its doors" at the mall.
  • Coach, which now lists a store at 2126 Abbott Martin Road with current hours on its official location page.
  • Vuori, whose store page shows a location in Suite 137, with customer reviews dated June through August.
  • Rowan, whose Green Hills studio page lists hours and a booking link.
  • Edikted, now marked "Now Open" on the mall's own website.

Still listed as announced, with no confirmed opening:

  • Oota Egyptian Eatery, which a May preview in Williamson Source expected for late May.
  • Mountain High Outfitters, which the same preview expected in July.
  • A permanent Kendra Scott. The mall lists a Kendra Scott store with regular hours. Its page does not say whether that store is the planned permanent location or the temporary one.
  • A Clayton & Crume kiosk, which was on the June list and has no confirmation since.

Most of the confirmed openings are stores whose own websites now list a working Green Hills location. The one food tenant on the spring list, Oota, has not reached that point publicly.

The $250 Million Question Mark

On February 4, 2026, Simon announced an investment program of more than $250 million covering three properties: The Mall at Green Hills, Cherry Creek and International Plaza. For Green Hills, the plan includes new two-story entrances, space for luxury boutiques, new landscaping and upgrades inside and out, with construction expected to begin in 2026. WSMV has described the Green Hills project on its own as a $250 million renovation.

Four months later, WSMV asked when major work would start and how it would affect shoppers. Mall officials gave no specific timeline. General Manager Norah Buikstra declined to say whether construction would affect parking or add any, saying only that there is "more to come." Simon said construction was expected "sometime this year." No later reporting confirms a start date, a phasing plan or any entrance closures. With less than three months left in 2026, the start date is still the open question.

The same WSMV report also pushes back on a common assumption about parking. Shoppers named parking as the mall's biggest challenge. Buikstra said about 70 percent of the mall's parking spaces are inside its parking decks, and that many visitors still look for surface lots first. For the Fall Fun Fest, the mall's suggestion to use the Emerald deck follows the same idea.

"We really do have the strongest luxury collection in Tennessee by far, and we are really proud of that."

Norah Buikstra, General Manager, The Mall at Green Hills, speaking to WSMV in June 2026

The Rest of the Undated List

The mall project is the largest item on the pending list, and several others nearby are in the same state.

The library

The Green Hills Branch Library closed on January 4, 2026, for a full renovation. Nashville Public Library expects it to reopen in early 2027, which is still a season rather than a date. The outdoor book return is also unavailable.

On at 4021 Hillsboro Pike

The Swiss sportswear company On is preparing its first Nashville store in the former Whole Foods Whole Body space at 4021 Hillsboro Pike. WhatNow Nashville reported the move on July 2, 2026, and said no opening date had been announced. Nothing since has confirmed that the store is open.

E+Rose on Crestmoor

WhatNow also reported plans for an E+Rose location at 2115 Crestmoor Road. At the time, the exact date had not been confirmed, and no later report shows the location open.

Hillsboro Pike and Crestmoor Road

Metro's Department of Transportation has been realigning Crestmoor Road with Glen Echo at Hillsboro Pike and adding a water main along the way. Crestmoor closed for an expected week starting Monday, July 13, with a detour via Abbott Martin Road and Cleghorn Avenue. NDOT's estimate for substantial completion was August 2026. The project page was last updated on July 13 and still shows the project as under construction. Until NDOT posts an update, completion remains unconfirmed.

Planning Around What Is Confirmed

For October, the confirmed dates are short and specific. Dinner at Lupo Notte runs nightly from 5 p.m. The Fall Fun Fest is on October 10 outside Dillard's, and children need a free ticket. The Bluebird Cafe is open Friday mornings through October 30 and holds its Fall Open House on October 18. Burberry, Coach, Vuori, Rowan and Edikted are open inside the mall, where about 70 percent of the parking is in decks.

Everything else on the list is still pending. That includes lunch at Lupo Notte, Oota, Mountain High Outfitters, a permanent Kendra Scott, On, E+Rose, a construction start for the mall and the library's early-2027 reopening.

Some of these pending projects will shape daily life on certain streets more than others, especially mall construction and parking, the Crestmoor intersection and the library's return.
